Black businesswoman; leading Black leader of Women Strike for Peace 1961, linking civil rights with peace movement; founder Womanpower Unlimited 1961 aiding jailed Freedom Riders; first Black head Church Women United 1971-4; WSP delegate to Geneva atomic conference 1962, World Without the Bomb Assembly Ghana 1962.
