Angela Kane (née Uther) born Hamelin, Lower Saxony, Germany September 29, 1948. Ranking executive of UN since 1977. Special representative to end El Salvador War, 1991. Assistant Secretary for Political Affairs, 2005-08; Under-Secretary-General for Management, 2008-12. As High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, oversaw the destruction of stockpiled Syrian chemical weapons, 2013.
