Margot Kassman

Margot Kässmann (née Schultze) born Marburg, Hesse, Germany June 3, 1955. Lutheran bishop. First woman to head the German Evangelical Council, 2009; opposed German participation in Afghan War, 2009; signed German leaders’ antiwar protest, 2014. Opposed NATO missiles, 1983; against all war, including World War I.
