Clémence Auguste Royer born Nantes, France April 21, 1830 (d. 1902). French feminist and pacifist, philosopher, scientific genius; active in International League of Peace & Freedom 1867; opposed conscription and standing armies in feminist journal La Fronde; condemned Boer War; insisted upon scientific education of women 1889.
